The programme aimed to familiarize the newly admitted students with the spirit and objectives of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme and to help them transition smoothly into the teacher education environment.

Session 1: Bridging Prospective Teachers to the Social Role through Arts

The first session of the induction programme was held from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on the same day. The session was handled by Mr. Harids K.U., Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Majlis Arts and Science College.

Mr. Harids skillfully engaged the newly joined ITEP students through a series of interactive and creative activities designed to connect them with the social dimensions of teaching. Using art-based approaches, he emphasized the importance of collaboration, empathy, and self-expression in developing as effective educators.

The activities conducted during the session promoted team building, mutual understanding, and creative engagement, successfully bridging the learners’ personal experiences with the social role of teachers envisioned in the ITEP framework. Participants actively took part in group performances, reflective discussions, and art-based exercises that deepened their understanding of teaching as a social and transformative profession.

The session was both insightful and energizing, setting a positive tone for the upcoming phases of the induction programme and for the academic journey of the ITEP 2025–2029 batch.
