The Department of Education, Majlis Arts and Science College, organised a one-day Field Trip to Munnar on 30 November 2025 for the students of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). The primary objective of the trip was to provide students with an opportunity for experiential learning, peer bonding, and exposure to the ecological, geographical, and cultural richness of the Western Ghats.
The trip was coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Naseerali M.K., Head of the Department of Education, and was attended by all faculty members and all ITEP students. The group commenced the journey early in the morning from the college campus and proceeded towards Munnar, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the route.
Upon reaching Munnar, the team visited major viewpoints and attractions, including the tea gardens, environmental parks, and natural habitats. Students observed the biodiversity of the region and gained insights into sustainable tourism, ecological conservation, and the cultural significance of the hill station. Faculty members facilitated informal discussions and reflective learning sessions throughout the trip.
The field trip offered the students a refreshing break from routine classroom activities and helped strengthen teacher-student relationships. It also provided opportunities for collaborative learning, observation, and documentation, which are essential components of the ITEP curriculum.
The Department expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of all students and the support of the faculty, which contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the trip.
