Report on Anti-Narcotics Drugs Legal Awareness Programme

The Department of Education, Majlis Arts and Science College, Puramannur successfully organized an Anti-Narcotics Drugs Legal Awareness Programme on the occasion of Youth Day, 12 January 2026, at 3:00 PM. The programme was conducted under the aegis of NALSA, District Legal Services Authority, Manjeri, and Thaluk Legal Services Committee, Thirur, with the objective of creating legal awareness among youth regarding the harmful effects of narcotic drugs and related legal consequences.

The programme began with the anchoring by Mohana A.S, followed by a warm welcome address by Ameesha V. Manoj. The dignitaries on the dais were felicitated by Dr. Naseerali M.K., (Head of the Department of Education), and Dr. V.T. Jayaram, (Head of the Department of English), who emphasized the importance of legal literacy and youth responsibility in building a drug-free society.

The introduction of the resource person was delivered by Adhithya, after which the main session was handled by Advocate Jaseel C. The class focused on legal awareness related to anti-narcotics drugs, highlighting laws, penalties, preventive measures, and the social responsibility of youth in combating drug abuse. The session was informative, interactive, and highly relevant for students.

The programme witnessed the active presence of Programme Co-ordinator Vimala J, along with teachers, non-teaching staff, and students of ITEP. As a token of love and appreciation, Dr. Naseerali Sir presented a small memento to the resource person and the programme co-ordinator.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Navaneeth Krishna K, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the programme. Feedback was shared by Telna Rose C.S., Aparna E.V, and Sreya Suresh, who appreciated the relevance and effectiveness of the session.

The programme concluded successfully at 4:15 PM, leaving a strong message about legal awareness and the importance of staying away from narcotic drugs.
