The third session of the Students Induction Programme (SIP) for the ITEP 2025–2029 Batch was held on 18 September 2025 in the Audio Visual Hall of Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous). The session, titled “Teachers as Lifesavers,” was a deeply inspiring and value-oriented interaction led by Dr. Kamaludheen K.T., Principal of Al Shifa College of Arts & Science, Perinthalmanna.

The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Naseerali M.K., Professor & Head, Department of Education, who warmly greeted the resource person and the gathering. In his remarks, Dr. Naseerali highlighted the significance of induction sessions in orienting the newly admitted ITEP students towards the ethical and social dimensions of the teaching profession.

In his address, Dr. Kamaludheen K.T. emphasized that teachers are not only facilitators of knowledge but also lifesavers who influence, guide, and transform lives through compassion, understanding, and commitment. His talk revolved around three central themes:

  1. Dynamic Roles of Teachers – He explained how teachers must evolve with changing times, embracing new pedagogies and technologies while staying rooted in human values.
  2. Opportunities and Challenges – He discussed the growing opportunities for teachers in a rapidly advancing world and the challenges that come with maintaining integrity, adaptability, and emotional balance.
  3. What & Why of Teaching – He reflected on the true purpose of teaching, stressing that education should aim at nurturing humane, responsible, and socially conscious individuals.

The session was interactive and reflective, with students actively participating in discussions and sharing their own views about the noble responsibilities of a teacher.

The talk left a lasting impression on the ITEP students, reinforcing the idea that teaching is a life-enriching mission—one that saves, shapes, and uplifts lives.
