A Parents’ Meeting of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), Department of Education, was conducted on 1 October 2026 at the Department of Education, Majlis Arts and Science College, with the participation of parents, students and faculty members.
The meeting began with a welcome address by Mr. Midhun G., Assistant Professor of Physics, Department of Education. He welcomed the Head of the Department, faculty members, students and parents to the programme.
The main address was delivered by Dr. Naseerali M. K., Head of the Department of Education. He spoke about the journey and development of ITEP at Majlis and discussed important academic and institutional matters. He highlighted the need for continuous improvement in students’ academic performance, attendance, discipline, communication skills and participation in academic and co-curricular activities. He also emphasized the importance of developing teaching aptitude, professional skills and the qualities required for becoming competent and responsible teachers. Examination-related matters, student concerns and the importance of regular academic engagement were also discussed. He encouraged students to make effective use of the opportunities provided through ITEP and to work consistently towards their personal and professional development.
Dr. Jayaram, Head of the Department of English, delivered the felicitation address and conveyed his best wishes to the students and parents. He also highlighted the importance of effective communication in between students and their parents
The parents shared their experiences and observations regarding ITEP and expressed their views on the academic environment and their children’s experiences in the programme. The students also shared their feedback, experiences and expectations.
Following the general session, individual parent–teacher interactions were held. Parents met the respective teachers and discussed the academic performance, attendance, participation and overall progress of their wards. Teachers shared their observations and suggestions, while parents communicated their concerns and views regarding the students’ academic development.
The meeting concluded with a fruitful exchange of views among parents, students and teachers, contributing to better communication and coordination towards the continued academic and professional development of the ITEP students.
